今日は、ヘルシンキから高速船シリアラインの「super sea cat」で１時間４０分で行けるエストニアの首都タリンへ。昨日、予約しておいたので、スムーズに出国。
国外に出るので、もちろんパスポートコントロールを通るのだが、ほとんど素通り状態。ちなみに「super sea cat」、ふたり分往復で78ユーロ。(１万円ちょっと)結構リーズナブル。席は広いし(好きな席に座れる)、国際線なので免税店もあるし、ほとんどゆれないし、カフェやバーもあってとっても快適。デッキにでたりして楽しんでいたら、あっという間にタリンへ着く。
港から歩いて15分のところにある、タリンの旧市街は、街がぐるっと城壁に囲まれていて、中世の街並がそのまま残っているようなところ。なんとなく、スウェーデンのガムラスタンを思い出させるような石畳と街並。とてもかわいらしい。犬や猫もいてとても癒される。
タリンで一番驚いたのが、食事がすごく美味しいこと。たまたま入ったお店が美味しかったのかもしれないが、スープ・オムレツ・野菜のチーズグラタン(みたいなもの)を頼んだのだが、全て美味しい！！！特にグラタンが絶品。家に帰って再現できるよう、中身を細かくチェック（笑）。時間があったら、他のお店でも食事してみたかった。
もうひとつうれしい誤算は、タリンは観光目的で着たので買物には期待していなかったのだが、リネン系がすごく充実していた。テーブルのセンタークロス・ふきん(だと思う)など次々ゲット。おそらく、観光地価格だったのだろうが、それも気にならないくらいお安かった♪(後に、F.O.Bのリネン類はエストニアとかリトアニアで生産されているとか。知っていれば、もっと買ってきたのに)いつか機会があれば(・・・ないと思うけど)、また来たいところである。
帰りも「super sea cat」にてヘルシンキへ。免税店で、ダンナは「SUOMI」ロゴのTシャツを購入。今年はこれを着るそうだ。私は、ムーミンのお菓子やゲイシャチョコを購入。
夕食は、ヘルシンキ市内の「Tori(トリ)」へ。カジュアルレストランで地元の若い人の溜まり場って感じのお店。あとから気がついたところによると、先にカウンターで自分の食べるものを注文し、お金を払い、食事が出てきたら取りにいくというシステムのお店。しかし、何にも知らないわたしたちは、空いてる席に座ってみたら、お店のお姉さんがメニューを持ってきてくれ、オーダーを取ってくれた。もちろん、食事も運んでくれる。お金は後払い。でも、全然嫌な顔ひとつしない。この件に限らず、フィンランドの人たちは、非常に親切。毎日、いろんな親切を受けた。フィンランド、ますますラブ♪
肝心の味は、なかなか美味しかった。スウェーデン同様、マッシュポテトに甘いソースがかかっている部分だけはいただけなかったが、あとは美味しくいただく。
あっというまに、予定の半分を消化。肝心の食器が何一つ買えてないのがちょっと焦り気味。
